Design Grayhound Rubber Track Paver Features Exclusive Smartrac System
Cedarapids introduces its line of
Grayhound Rubber Track Pavers featuring the
Smartrac System
that offers today's road
building contractors improved paving efficiency, productivity and mat quality.
The new rubber track paver is available with either
Cedarapids' exclusive Remix Anti-Segregation System or with a slat conveyor delivery
system.
The friction-driven Smartrac System combines these elements
for superior paving performance:
Self-Adjusting Track Tensioning
System (patented)
Three-Point Suspension
(patented)
Frame Raise System (patented)
Oscillating bogie wheel
assemblies
Wider stance
The
Self-Adjusting Track Tensioning System
maintains proper track tension at all times. Hydraulically operated, the self-charging
system eliminates the need for manual adjustment. It greatly reduces the possibility of
the track coming loose and improves track component life.
The
oscillating, rubber coated bogie wheel assemblies
are pivot mounted on a heavy-duty frame. In conjunction with
Three-Point Suspension they maintain maximum track contact--even over irregular paving
surfaces--for a smoother operator ride and higher quality mat. They also provide a more
uniform load distribution that extends the life of critical track and machine components.
Like all Grayhounds, the Rubber Track Paver has Cedarapids'
patented Three-Point Suspension for the smoothest ride in the
industry. The suspension system isolates track movement from the rest of the paver,
resulting in a smoother mat, more uniform track loading, improved tractive effort and
extended track component life.
Included in the new paver's design is Cedarapids' patented
Frame Raise System
that enables fine tuning to the head of hot mix material in
front of the paver's screed by raising or lowering the spreading augers. The system allows
increased ground clearance, which reduces the potential for damage to the paver during
loading and unloading.
Without increasing overall machine width, the rubber track
paver was engineered to have the widest stance in the industry.
This allows for improved maneuverability and permits the paver to straddle any hot mix
left behind the pickup machine during windrowing, thereby extending rubber track service
life.
The Rubber Track Paver combines the smoothness and high
speed of a rubber tire paver with the flotation and tractive effort of a steel track
paver. With a travel speed of up to 10 mph (16 km/h), the paver saves time on the job and
results in lower operating costs.
The new paver shares a high degree of parts commonality
within the rubber track family and with other Grayhound pavers. Grayhound steel track
pavers can be retrofitted to the rubber track system.
